Cheap than a MF

Seems that hockey players aren't BALLIN like their NFL and NBA counterparts.  The Edmonton Oilers found themselves in a dispute over a bar tab.  The article makes them sound like @ssholes and cheap.  Not a good combo.

He told the press that the players “went ballistic to the point where they started threatening, denigrating my staff, saying ‘We're the Edmonton Oilers – we expect a 50 per cent discount.'

You can't make this stuff up. Actually a commenter put it best.

Cut them a break, it's been years since they've popped champagne.

OUCH!

Either or?

This was inspired from reading about Griffey here. It was a post about Griffey not getting his due respect, which is very true.

Anyway, the post also referenced Jesus Shuttlesworth jumper. So, my question to you my good readers is this. Which is better, Junior's swing or Allen's jumper? Who's the better hitter, Junior or Pujols (we are talking holistically here)

Better dunker, Nique or Vince? Reignman or Stoudemire? Kemp and Amar'e are essentially the same player. Highlight reel dunker, no real jumper to speak, catch most lobs thrown in the vicnity of the basket.

Better QB, Montana or Young? Montana or Manning? Young or Brady?

Sid the Kid or Ovechkin?

Hat tricks are for MVPs!

Stank-0 will not mince his words.  AO is the MVP and his hat trick in Game 2 cements it.  Now Sid got him a hat trick but they lost the game so don't nobody care.

Alex Ovechkin's first playoff hat trick was cause for celebration, worthy of so many red caps that Sidney Crosby wanted fans to be told to stop throwing them.

Is it Stank-0 or is Sid turnin into a lil simp?  Sid, they are at home and their boy was smokin.  People throw hats on the ice when there is a hat trick.  Some even throw octopuses.

Here's a way to stop hat throwin...better goaltending.  Sid, ya'll goin home so you can get some home cooking there.

Caps-Pens Game 1

Wow Stank-0 tuned in at the 18 min mark of the 2nd period.  What a game so far.  The Caps killed two power plays.  They been playin some great hockey right now.

AO has one goal already.  The Caps have way more shots on goal than the Pens.  The goalies are playin great right now.

WOW WHAT A SEQUENCE THAT WAS!
The puck was in the Pens zone for about 2:30 minutes.  There were a few Caps shots on goal.  Fleury has tightened up fa serious he covered up the last shot.  Now we await the face off.

GOOOOOOAL! 2 tight!  That was a weak goal to give up.  Varlamov had an unobstructed view of the shot, and just failed to corral it.

Stank-0 will come back later.  Ed said it best this is a great weekend of sports

UPDATE!  Shout out to NHL.com because you can watch the game live.  For CHEAP!

UPDATE1!:  Caps win 3-2

The best playoff series...in sports

Filed under: , by: Stankoniforous 0ne

The Washington Capitals advance to face the Pittsburgh Penguins.  Now they faced off early in the season, and there was some bad blood between Sid and AO.  Here's the particulars in case ya'll forgot.

After a little push-and-shove, Sidney Crosby was still running his mouth, even as his helmet came off and a linesman tried to push him back toward the bench.

Alex Ovechkin responded with a dismissive, "bye-bye" wave of the left hand, practically taunting the Pittsburgh Penguins star.

This is gonna be great.  There is no way that some talkin and fisticuffs do NOT pop off.  They clearly DISLIKE/HATE each other, and its filtered down to their respective teams.

There isn't a better series jumpin off in playoff sports right now, including the Bulls-Celtics, multi-overtime games.  That is a great series but there's no bad blood between these teams, Rando's head swipe notwithstanding.

This series is goin to at least 6 games.  Stank-0 picks the Capitals to advance.  AO for MVP!  Son has been scoring like a HS QB on prom night.  That would be back to back!

Game 7

Filed under: , , by: Anonymous

The Washington Capitals were DOA after goin down 3-1, or so we thought. This isn't anything new because they were in this exact same position last year.

Maybe they like adversity, but Werds thought AO was planning his vacation because the Rangers were gonna send him home.

If only I could be in the Verizon Center for Game 7. You know it will be loud and red in there.

Anyone know when that game is coming on? I'm watchin that one.
