The GMen opened their defense of their improbable Super Bowl title, by outlasting the Washington Redskins.

Having watched a large part of the game (yeah for Mountain Time!), the GMen were stumbling over their own feet and Eli didn't look 2008 playoff sharp either.

What are the GMen's chances of repeating, don't even factor in Strahan's retirement or Osi goin down for an extended stretch. They didn't seem to be playing inspired ball, maybe it was because the Redskins weren't puttin up much of a fight.

Poor poor poor Landry, he got absolutely trucked. Stank-0 figured Landry would know after Woodson got the same treatment in the playoffs, last year. It's not a pretty sight for the Redskin faithful.

After dispatching her sister, Serena is one match away from winning the US Open, again.

Serena has been on a drought, she hasn't played for an US Open title since 2002.

There isn't much to write about the other person, this is Serena's title to lose.

Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur have agolopized (apologized for the uninitiated) for being caught with reefer. Actually, they denied having any weed on their person.

Management then left to get security, which used its own key to enter the room minutes later. Once inside, security found Chalmers, Arthur and at least two women, sources told Broussard. There was a strong stench of marijuana in the room, and one person was in the bathroom with the door locked, repeatedly flushing the toilet, sources said.

The police were called to the room, which they searched, but neither marijuana nor drug paraphernalia was found. Representatives from the players' association were also on the scene by that time, sources told Broussard.

Now they are each working on their image, community service, foundations, etc.

Good move, gentlemen, but it should have been done sooner.

For reasons known only to God, SoCal is now #1 in the AP poll while Georgia drops to #2. The reason is because SoCal played a BCS conference opponent.

Now Stank-0 is all for teams not having a steady diet of cupcakes, but uh...Georgia didn't lose and they won pretty impressively at that.

Stank-0 thinks the computers need some more tweakin if they are blowin it this early in the season.

"There's a bit of a growing backlash for the amount of teams that open with I-AA cupcakes," said Mandel, whose book "Bowls, Polls and Tattered Souls" chronicles college football's controversies. "To see a team [USC] go on the road and play a New Year's Day bowl team from last season, and not only play them but destroy them, how could you not reward that team?"

USC also jumped past Georgia to No. 1 in the USA Today coaches' poll, which has the same top five as the AP poll.

Fundamentally, Stank-0 is in total agreement, but in reality Virginia is an upper echelon cupcake. The clip below will bear this out.

A quick rundown of the major college power's IR status:

• Mizzou's Jeremy Maclin has an outside chance of still playin this season.
• Auburn is losing a few players to the injury bug.
  
• OSU's running back is not practicing right now.
• Georgia loses a defensive tackle to a injury as well.

These are just a few of the injuries, and the season has just started. Now Stank-0 has little love for Missou but Jeremy Maclin is nice. So for your viewing pleasure, some Maclin highlights.

Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur, members of National Champion men's basketball team, were both thrown out of the NBA's rookie transition program. Each was caught with marijuana and will have to do the program again.

Stank-0 wonders just how dumb you can be? Super Mario, you were the hero of the 2008 NCAA but that don't let you slide on mary jane.
